That’s what a Little Free Library is: a public book-sharing box where anyone can take a book or leave a book. Want to start one in your community? Learn more on the Little Free Library website.
Help get books into the hands of those who need them. Organize a book drive in your school, community, or workplace.
Here are some of our favorite groups that accept book donations:
Bernie’s Book Bank. Books for children (birth to 6th grade).
Books4Cause. Most books in good condition.
Book Driver. Non-children’s books, DVDs, vinyl records, CDs, and video games.
Open Books. Most books in good condition.
Reach Out and Read Illinois. Children’s books (ages 6 months to 5 years).
The Illinois State Library in Springfield and several local public library branches also accept book donations.
